Black Beans
Cuban style black beans were a specialty of Gladys Gonzalez. We've chosen to start our collection of foods with for a number of good reasons.
First, they're gluten-free and vegan friendly; this is a plate that is truly safe for anyone to eat.
Secondly, you can eat them in so many delicious ways. By itself, as a dip, add some water for a soup, mixed with rice, filling a taco or burrito...
Finally (for now), black beans are a healthy and natural source of protein and other vitamins!

"Dietary restrictions can be tedious to deal with. It's great to have something to eat that is delicious, affordable, healthy, and safe to eat!"
— Gail Huber
Some ways to enjoy...
Dip In!
While you are enjoying the delicious flavor with a fork in hand, you might suddenly realize that you don't need that fork! Get out some tortilla chips (gluten free) and share it with some friends around the table.
In Rice
Few things go better with black beans than white rice. Super affordable and quick to make, equal parts beans and rice are an ideal meal to take with you on a trip or for lunch at work. Beware, you might have to start packing a serving for friends at work! Don't say we didn't warn you.
Soup
Few culinary delights can satisfy the desire for comfort like a bowl of warm, delicious soup. Adding equal parts water alone will make for a lovely soup in no time, but please consider adding other veggies as well (cilantro and habanero is popular in our home)!
And we're just getting started!
Black beans and rice was just the tip of the iceberg. White rice and beans is great but wait until you try our vegan picadillo! Savory olives and capers complementing sweet raisins will delight your taste buds with our interpretation of a dish that literally translates to ground beef! All while maintaining our focus on keeping the menu gluten-free and vegan-friendly.
Can't wait to add some more Cuban flavor? Look for platanos maduros in your frozen isle at the supermarket! We can assure you that the sweet addition will make for a meal to remember.
